February 8 – 10

We started the week by selecting a place each of us would like to visit in Nova Scotia. Then we researched reasons why we wanted to see a particular sight. After having come up with three reasons we started our draft for our persuasive paragraph and will be presenting our sights and reasons to the class in the coming week. We are planning on voting after each student has presented their sight. Our results will be out into a graph and the top sights will be added to our tour of Nova Scotia and its past.

During math we started adding 2-digit numbers together. We rolled our die to create two 2-digit numbers that we added together. Some of us created numbers that involved regrouping so we looked at the importance of place value and regrouping when our number was greater than 9. In the upcoming week we will take time to practice regrouping when adding 2-digit numbers.

In the upcoming week we will start our “Kindness Calendar Challenge”. It will start with us looking at our guiding question “How does kindness lead to HEART?” and we are excited that our kindergarten buddies will be joining us to explore our first activity. We will be combining the 100th day of school and our kindness work. It will start by sharing The Kindness Book by Todd Parr on a Google Meet.
